Please don’t ever think Hispanic people are not a minority and don’t need to be protected from racism and the way they’re represented in media

We are not cleaning ladies, we are not alcoholics, we do not mow your lawn, we are not exotic sexy mysteries for your white ass to unlock the secrets of

well except that my hispanic grandmother was a cleaning lady and my grandfather an alcoholic, but ok. i understand what your point is but i think you mean to say “we are not ONLY…”. because excluding certain “unfavorable” or stereotypical depictions of hispanics feels sort of invalidating. that said, i agree with your sentiment. i never thought about it as a child, but in hindsight, i think that if i saw any sort of positive, relatable hispanic characters on tv/movies that i was able to look up to, other than the gardeners and cleaning ladies and alcoholics, then i would have identified more with the hispanic side of myself and my family than i do now.

I dream about Quentin Tarantino at least once a month. A dream two weeks ago involved me walking into a store/lounge full of 60s style velvet furniture and groovy decor in Haight-Ashbury with a few friends, sitting quietly in the corner as everyone smoked weed and conversed without me, and then looking up to find Quentin Tarantino looking down at me with a smile on his face, eventually leading me into a room full of S&M gear.

Yeah idk man…..
